Spring weather greeted participants of this year’s Wagga Trail Marathon Running Weekend. Organisers changed the format of the event this year to a popular 5km and 10km run on the Saturday, with the Marathon, 1/2 Marathon and Marathon Relay being held on Sunday morning. On the spot finisher certificates were popular again this year. On Sunday the 30th September 2012, MySplit combined with Steve Martin from Orange to support RFIDSystems and Graeme Vincent of RacTec to time the inaugural Kowalski Classic – a 100k and 50k MTB event. Held around Sparrow Hill in the ACT, there were over 600 competitors that started in a dozen waves spread across the two events. The 2012 Lake to Lagoon was a huge success with 1612 timed runners finishing along with hundreds of bikers. The Lake to Lagoon is a unique community event that is free to enter and consists of both a family cycle section and a fun run and walkers section. This year saw a massive 20% increase in registrations and participants.

Wagga Trail Marathon
The Wagga Trail was a busy day with 4 events timed on the Sunday. There was an early start group an hour before the main Marathon start wave at 8:30am. For a few months now, we’ve been timing the monthly Wagga Wagga Road Runners handicap runs. Each month up to about 70 runners complete in either the long or short handicap run based on their best time achieved during the month.
